AWS Cloud Engineer

Position: AWS Cloud Engineer
Contract: Initial 6-month contract
Rate: £800-£850/day (may stretch for exceptional candidates)
Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

Role Responsibilities:

• Support development teams in building applications on AWS
• Implement automation via infrastructure-as-code
• Build cloud-first solutions, sharing AWS best practices
• Manage CI/CD pipelines
• Proactively suggest innovative solutions within Investment Technology
• Actively engage in Agile planning processes (story refinement, demos, retrospectives)

Essential Skills:

• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code
• AWS knowledge (Lambda, Fargate, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB, IAM)
• Python programming skills for automation and development
• Azure knowledge, particularly in cloud integration and multi-cloud environments
• Experience in TDD, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD methodologies
• Ability to handle technical conversations with users at all levels

Desirable Skills:

• Proficiency with Linux
• Experience with Docker, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform
• Microservices and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Knowledge of security and networking
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and strong team player with excellent communication
