BESS/ Grid PM

This role supports the delivery of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and grid-connected projects across Switzerland, providing consultancy and advisory services from feasibility through to commissioning. You will manage project scope, schedule, cost, risk and stakeholder engagement, ensuring compliance with local regulations and grid code requirements. Day rate: £95 per day.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management for BESS and grid integration workstreams, including site due diligence and constructability reviews.
• Coordinate stakeholders: clients, utilities/DSOs/TSOs, EPC contractors, OEMs, permitting bodies, landowners and internal specialists.
• Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, change control, meeting cadence, and governance packs.
• Support grid connection applications, technical submissions, and interface management with network operators.
• Oversee tendering and contract administration (EPC, O&M, LTSA), including payment milestones and variations.
• Monitor HSEQ expectations and ensure project documentation is complete and audit-ready.
• Track progress against KPIs and provide clear reporting, forecasts, and recommendations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within energy, renewables, power systems or infrastructure, ideally including BESS and grid connections.
• Strong understanding of power system concepts (HV/MV design, protection, SCADA, metering, commissioning).
• Experience working with permitting and regulatory processes in Switzerland or comparable European markets.
• Competence in contract and supplier management (FIDIC or similar desirable).
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Project (or equivalent), Excel and reporting tools.
• Degree in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, APM) desirable.
• Fluency in English required; German and/or French advantageous.
• Willingness to travel within Switzerland as needed.
