Job Title: Data Center Manager
Location: Basel (Hybrid possible)
Department: IT Infrastructure
Reports To: IT Leadership
Position Summary

The Data Center Manager oversees the operation, maintenance, and security of the organization’s data center, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability. This role coordinates with internal teams and external service providers, aligning local operations with global IT infrastructure standards and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations, monitoring, and maintenance of data center infrastructure.
  • Act as the main point of contact for IT infrastructure topics at the Visp site.
  • Coordinate with local facility teams and global IT to ensure operational readiness.
  • Define and implement data center standards, cabling, labeling, and installation guidelines.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Oversee capacity planning, expansions, migrations, and lifecycle management of assets.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and risk management for all data center operations.
  • Manage external service providers with clear KPIs, SLAs, and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization of infrastructure systems.
Requirements
  • Strong experience with data center systems: servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling.
  • Pharma experience 
  • Technical expertise with VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Linux Server, storage, and backup.
  • Solid knowledge of networking and security best practices.
  • Proven experience managing data center projects and teams.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CDCP, CDCMP)
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT required; Master’s preferred.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in large, international environments.
