We are looking for a Data Scientist to provide external support for this project. The planned activities include data analysis, data engineering (in particular the construction of the basic data pipelines and automatic data cleansing), the development and implementation of the forecasting model, as well as model deployment.
This role requires expertise in both machine learning and data engineering. The development takes place on Swissgrid's internal data platform on GitHub and Azure Databricks. Experience with Python (especially PySpark), Azure Databricks, MLOps, Terraform, MLflow, and PyTorch is required.
 
Achievement

• Data analysis of node load data and other relevant data (weather forecasts, price forecasts, grid data, ...)
• Data engineering: Create data pipelines in Spark that process and clean the input data step-by-step using PySpark on Azure Databricks
• Creation of an accurate and stable day-ahead load forecasting model for about a thousand nodes, taking into account time and cost optimization (MLOps on Databricks, temporal-spatial forecasts, ...)

 
Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience as an ICT Data Scientist
• Local from Switzerland
• Data Scientist – Fokus MLOps & Data Engineering
• Experience with Graph Neural Network
• Experience in the electricity sector is a big plus, but only optional
• German Speaking
