Role: BI Migration Specialist (DOMO ? Tableau)
Contract: 12 month contract (outside IR35)

Role Summary
We are migrating our analytics platform from DOMO to Tableau. The organisation already operates a modern data stack with a Data Warehouse, Snowflake for SQL-based transformations, and Airflow for orchestration. This role will focus on migrating reporting, logic, and business usage patterns from DOMO into a Tableau-on-Snowflake architecture — not rebuilding the data platform. The successful candidate must have hands-on DOMO experience and a strong understanding of how to translate DOMO-specific logic and dashboards into a scalable Tableau model.

Key Responsibilities
Migration Assessment & Planning
• Audit existing DOMO assets (datasets, Magic ETL, dashboards, workflows, apps)
• Identify logic currently embedded in DOMO that must be:
o Rebuilt in Snowflake o Reproduced in Tableau
o Deferred or retired
• Define phased migration approach and success criteria
Data & Logic Translation
• Translate DOMO Magic ETL and dataset logic into:
o Snowflake SQL
o Existing ETL patterns
• Align migrated logic with existing governance and metric definitions
• Partner with BI team to avoid duplication of logic already in Snowflake 3. Tableau Delivery
• Rebuild priority DOMO dashboards in Tableau
• Design Tableau data sources optimised for Snowflake
• Implement row-level security and performance best practices
• Establish Tableau design and development standards
Validation
• Perform side-by-side validation of Tableau vs DOMO outputs
• Define and document acceptable variance thresholds
• Support business UAT and sign-off
• Ensure DOMO remains system of record until Tableau is validated 5. Knowledge Transfer & Enablement
• Upskill BI team on Tableau best practices in a Snowflake context
• Document migration patterns, decisions, and known limitations
• Reduce reliance on DOMO-specific logic post-migration

Required Experience
• Proven experience delivering BI platform migrations
• Hands-on experience with DOMO, including:
o Magic ETL
o Datasets and cards
• Strong hands-on Tableau experience (Desktop + Server/Cloud)
• Strong SQL skills with Snowflake
• Experience working with Airflow-orchestrated pipelines
• Deep understanding of data modelling for BI (facts, dimensions)
• Experience validating and reconciling financial / revenue data
• Experience with Salesforce / CRM analytics
• Experience working in governed analytics environment
What Success Looks Like
• Tableau dashboards successfully replacing DOMO reporting
• No duplication of business logic across platforms
• BI team confident operating Tableau independently
• DOMO usage reduced without business disruption #LI-RP1
