Job Description
- Provide real-time support for trading and live trader position applications. This includes resolving trade booking issues, conducting root-cause analysis on position update delays, setting up reference data, and configuring pricing feeds for trade valuations.
- Configure risk measures, investigate and explain P&L anomalies, and manage interfaces for compliance and regulatory reporting. Take corrective actions for invoicing and settlement issues and debug code to identify system bugs.
- Support the CTRM and connected upstream/downstream applications for intraday and end-of-day activities. Ensure data feeds function as intended and accurate data is uploaded to the ledger applications, credit management systems, etc.
- Ensure time-critical batch steps run successfully. Conduct root-cause analysis for failures and perform corrective actions such as fixing pricing issues, resolving trade setup problems, and debugging database and system performance issues.
- Proactively monitor application availability and report issues. Communicate effectively with clients and vendors to provide incident updates, follow up on progress, and notify stakeholders of impending changes or outages.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills in managing issues and projects. Ensure fast turnaround for client requests and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
- Log and prioritize tickets in the issue tracking system. Collaborate with the Service Desk to route requests to the appropriate resources and escalate complex issues requiring specialized knowledge.
Technical expertise
- Minimum of 5 years experience in IT, with at least 3 years specifically within the energy trading domain.
- Proven experience working on a fast-paced trading floor and supporting traders during peak hours is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in OpenLink Endur, specifically for North American Gas and Power markets.
- Hands-on experience with Endur OpenJVS and general proficiency in Java, .NET, or similar languages.
- Good experience with CTRM Application support including upstream/downstream systems. (E.g. Understands business workflow, trade life cycle and operations).
- Must have business knowledge of North American Gas and Power trade life cycle.
- Working knowledge of ISO power markets and FTR trade booking.
- Advanced technical diagnostic skills and the ability to analyze complex SQL scripts and database structures.
- Highly motivated and eager to learn both third-party and proprietary in-house systems.
