Guardicore Network Engineer / Analyst

Location: London / Hybrid (UK)
Contract: 6 Months
IR35: TBC
Start: ASAP

The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Guardicore Network Engineer / Analyst to join its Cyber Security & Infrastructure team on an initial 6-month contract. You'll play a key role in supporting, maintaining and enhancing the firm's microsegmentation platform, helping to strengthen network security across critical enterprise infrastructure.

Working alongside Cyber Security, Infrastructure and Network teams, you'll support day-to-day operations, implement segmentation policies, troubleshoot connectivity issues and contribute to ongoing security improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support the Guardicore (Akamai Guardicore Segmentation) platform.
  • Design, implement and maintain microsegmentation policies across enterprise environments.
  • Monitor and investigate security events, network flows and policy violations.
  • Troubleshoot Guardicore agent, policy and connectivity issues.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, server and application teams to onboard new workloads.
  • Support platform upgrades, maintenance and security enhancement projects.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to BAU support and project delivery across the network security estate.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with Akamai Guardicore Segmentation (formerly Guardicore Centra).
  • Good understanding of microsegmentation principles and Zero Trust architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewalls.
  • Experience supporting Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Understanding of network traffic analysis and application dependency mapping.
  • Experience working within large enterprise production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work closely with both infrastructure and security teams.

Desirable

  • Experience within Financial Services or other regulated environments.
  • Exposure to VMware, Azure and/or AWS environments.
  • Knowledge of network security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS and NAC.
  • PowerShell, Python or automation scripting experience.
  • ITIL awareness or experience working within IT Service Management frameworks.
