Our client is a globally recognised firm with offices across major financial centres.

Their London office is a strategic hub supporting global operations. They foster a culture of innovation, agility, and excellence, and we’re looking for a rising star in network engineering to join their infrastructure team.

Role Overview

The firm is looking for a Network Engineer who’s passionate about designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable network solutions.

You’ll be part of a small, high-performing infrastructure team, supporting the firm’s critical operations across trading, investment, and corporate systems.

This is not a “maintenance-only” role, it’s hands-on, creative, and strategic.

You’ll be involved in design discussions, process improvement, and ensuring the firm’s network infrastructure evolves alongside new technologies and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain the firm’s network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPN, routing, and switching).
  • Support and enhance voice and video systems (Zoom, Teams, Cisco, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the systems and cloud teams to optimise virtualised network environments (VMware, Azure, or similar).
  • Participate in the network design process, offering innovative, scalable solutions to support business growth.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues quickly and effectively, maintaining minimal downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and assist with network monitoring and incident response.
  • Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and best practice development.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a mid-sized company environment (approx. 200–500 users).
  • CCIE certified or working toward CCIE – strong understanding of Cisco technologies.
  • Exposure to network design and architecture principles.
  • Experience in professional services environments such as investment banking, legal, or consultancy firms.
  • A strong desire to learn, grow, and take ownership within a collaborative, forward-thinking team.

Hands-on experience with:

  • Routing and switching (Cisco preferred)
  • Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA)
  • VPN, SD-WAN, and network segmentation
  • Zoom and voice systems integration
  • Virtual infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure networking)
