Job Description
📍 London | 💼 Hybrid | 🕒 Full-time | 📅 6-Month Contract
We're looking for a Senior BI Developer to join a leading insurance firm on a high-impact data project. You’ll build scalable Power BI solutions, enable actionable insights, and ensure customers can pursue their financial goals through clean, intelligent reporting.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver robust BI solutions using Power BI, including semantic modelling and DAX
- Analyse, transform, and visualise complex data sets using SQL and/or Python
- Produce and maintain governance documentation (data lineage, dictionaries, architecture mapping)
- Collaborate within agile teams to support delivery of key business outcomes
- Manage competing priorities and communicate risks or delays clearly
- Engage stakeholders to define data requirements and present insights
- Strong Power BI expertise with semantic modelling and DAX
- Proven experience with SQL and/or Python
- Solid understanding of relational databases and data governance
- Clear written, visual, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure with senior stakeholders
- Comfortable in agile, fast-paced delivery environments
- Insurance sector experience
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience with DataLake/ETL tools (e.g. Databricks, Synapse, Dataiku)
- Documenting technical data requirements and designing data tests
- BSc or higher in Computer Science, Maths, Economics, or related field
- CII qualification (preferred or working towards)
