As part of a marine solutions division serving the local cruise market, you will play a key role in delivering, commissioning, and maintaining navigation systems on board advanced cruise and merchant vessels.
You will be responsible for executing service and commissioning activities according to defined work plans, ensuring that equipment installations, adjustments, and repairs meet internal quality standards. The role requires a strong technical mindset, hands-on experience, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
The position reports directly to the Field Service Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities

Perform commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of navigation and control systems according to defined work plans

Carry out tests, adjustments, and fine-tuning of navigation equipment to ensure optimal system performance

Conduct installation and pre-commissioning checks, including configuration and calibration

Lead or support commissioning activities and ensure proper system handover to customers or shipyards

Execute complex repairs and overhauls independently when required

Maintain clear and professional communication with customers and project stakeholders during service delivery

Ensure all work complies with internal Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, as well as customer-specific site procedures

Prepare and complete service and commissioning reports accurately and on schedule

Identify potential improvements and promote company solutions to customers

Provide feedback from field activities to support continuous improvement of service procedures and tools
Key Requirements

Technical education (diploma or degree) in Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field

Minimum 2 years of relevant field experience on board cruise or merchant vessels

Strong understanding of automation and navigation systems; experience with modern integrated bridge systems, gyros, and steering systems is highly preferred

Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform both hardware and software adjustments

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation

Fluent in English; proficiency in Italian is an advantage

Hands-on, customer-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as within a team

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with strong attention to detail

Willingness to travel internationally and work onboard vessels or at shipyards as required
