WHAT CAN A DATA ANALYST BE EXPECTED TO DO?
The role can vary significantly from company to company, however BI and data analysts deal with data modelling and analysing collected information via databases. You can expect to be adept at programming in combination with other skills such as problem-solving and thinking in an analytical way to balance the role of IT and business analysis.
You may be requested to develop new procedures for data collection and new policies when it comes to analysing it, as well as cooperating with a larger IT department for the deployment of new hardware and other software upgrades. It’s also a major part of the role to conduct reviews of customer data and files, and ensuring a high level of integrity when it comes to the way in which data is collected and utilised.
